About Me

Currently, I am a writer of children's literature. After 38 years of teaching elementary students, my husband and I are retired and live in Manchester, one of the most beautiful areas in Washington State. We have four children, six grandchildren, one dog, with another one on the way. I enjoy writing picture books, poetry, and early chapter books.

Although my days of running half-marathons may be on pause, I continue to live an active lifestyle. Walking is my favorite exercise of choice now, as well as enjoying reading, gardening, sailing, and traveling. Combining my love of running and travel afforded me the thrill of running half-marathons in Ireland, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Seattle.

Earning an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction gave me the confidence to write my own Project Based Learning curriculum. Look for some fun STEM books in the future! I love humor and try to include a little chuckle in most of my writing. My love of animals can be found in many of my stories, which stems from growing up on a farm. My husband and I have a new Golden Retriever puppy named Layla. We plan to train her to be a therapy dog. We can hardly wait to visit schools and read with kids!
